Quoting Maya in his application, “I hope to apply the knowledge I will take back to the newsroom in seeking and identifying fresh reportorial ideas as well as use same in verifying and questioning HIV/AIDS statistics routinely dished out by government and its agencies. I also will use the training program to understand the HIV/AIDS question in its totality, discover new perspectives that can enhance my performance as an investigative reporter which inevitably will be passed on to junior reporters whose works I supervise”.
